, is a residential treatment facility established
to assist and serve adolescent females, ages 11 thru 17.
The goal at Jaycee’s is for these girls to increase their knowledge and skill levels so they develop into productive adults, who are self-sufficient in today’s
complicated society. Each resident is provided with skills
training in problem solving, interpersonal skills, and transition
skills to prepare them for independent living. Our aspiration
is to provide more normal life experiences for the girls,
fulfilling their needs and nurturing them with love.
Jaycee’s is a 501(c)(3) charity organization.
Jaycee’s Children Center (Jaycee’s) is licensed for 26 girls (ages 11-17). Most of the girls are sent from Children Protective Services. Jaycee's is usually full with a waiting list. Jaycee’s is in the process of updating their license to include 6 additional girls.
The Jaycees have two houses located on the same plot of land. The older house is home for 14 girls while the newer home houses 12 young girls. Each house requires 3 staff.
The girls attend Spring ISD schools. The school bus picks them up and drops them off each day in front of the house. Jaycee’s has a large van which provides transportation for the girls other needs. State Medicaid pays for a portion of the girls living expenses, but Jaycee’s relies mainly upon the generous donations from sponsors and individuals to make ends meet.
Jaycee’s has two therapists on staff and a psychiatrist that visits once per month. There are programs available to the girls that help them overcome substance abuse, abandonment issues and verbal aggression.
Jenny transferred to Jaycee’s when she was a freshman in high school. She stayed at Jaycee’s for 4 years since she had no family in the area. Jenny considered Jaycee’s her home where she was nurtured and loved. At Jaycee’s she learned life skills to cope in today’s world. Jenny graduated from high school and continues to be an inspiration to other young girls.
Crystal also stayed at Jaycee’s for 4 years. She also completed high school and thought of Jaycee’s as her home and family.
Your generous donations have helped to:
- construct the second home
- construct a playground between the homes for the girls so that they have some outdoor activity
- improve the driveway so that the girls do not have to walk through mud to get to the bus
- replace an old sewer line
- replace an old, malfunctioning air conditioner and heater at the older home
Thank you for helping Jaycee’s make life easier for young children.
Your donations will help Jaycee’s provide for more children so that the waiting list from Children Protective Services will shrink.
